Mixed Media, Painting, Photography
About the artistLife = Art…this is my Mantra. In my early twenties I studied Fine Arts and Illustration at the Academy of Art in San Francisco with the intention of becoming a Commercial Artist. Years later living in Vancouver my focus changed after taking a painting course in Italy thru Emily Carr to learn the "Masters Techniques". This wonderful experience in Italy inspired me to start painting seriously and for years afterwards I studied under the guidance of Paul Chizik, one of Vancouver's fines classical painters who at the time taught at the Academy of Art here in Vancouver. My work has evolved over the years from Classical to Modern. This last year I have explored the world of RESIN. This is quite a challenging medium to work with but the results can be mesmerizing. Last year I was deep into some photography with Encaustic Wax and somehow in a subconscious way I feel in the future I will find a way to work all of these disciplines together. Exploring new methods and materials is a driving force for me. I like to push myself beyond my comfort zone and continue to learn a new vocabulary to express myself. www.judithbrockstudio.com
Artists don't get down to work until the pain of working is exceeded by the pain of not working.
